The text sets out a broad historical-cultural route (from the beginnings of humanity to the present), with specific educational approach, about pedagogy of physical activity and sport in different geographical contexts (trying to turn our gaze beyond the West ), it is intended, by comparing and updating the themes proposed, to rediscover the value (eminently pedagogical) of education through movement at different times and in different cultures and philosophies, that is important to enhance and reinvent in the light of contemporary needs. It also proposes a reading of the major contemporary issues related to sport and a pedagogical proposal for a genuinely educational way of understanding physical activity and sport that can be promoting the values of the person. The text is aimed at students of degree courses in Motor Sciences, the operators in the areas of pedagogy, of sports and physical education, the teachers of the schools so that they can, through it, to encourage their students to investigate the educational opportunities of movement. It is also directed to all those who wish to learn more of the body and of the inexhaustible educational possibilities it opens.
Il testo prospetta un ampio percorso storico-culturale (dai primordi dell’umanità ad oggi), con specifico taglio pedagogico-didattico, della pedagogia dell’attività motoria e dello sport in contesti geografici differenti (cercando di volgere lo sguardo anche oltre l’occidente); ci si prefigge, attraverso il confronto e l’attualizzazione delle tematiche proposte, di riscoprire il valore eminentemente pedagogico dell’educazione motoria nelle varie epoche e nelle diverse filosofie e culture, che è importante valorizzare e reinventare alla luce delle esigenze contemporanee. Si propone altresì una lettura delle principali problematiche contemporanee connesse allo sport ed una proposta pedagogica per un modo autenticamente educativo di intendere attività motoria e sport, che possa essere di promozione dei valori della persona. Il testo è rivolto agli studenti dei corsi di laurea in Scienze Motorie, agli operatori nei vari settori della pedagogia, degli sports e dell’educazione fisica, agli insegnati delle Scuole affinché possano, attraverso esso, incentivare i loro allievi ad approfondire le opportunità formative del movimento. E’ poi diretto a tutti coloro i quali desiderano saperne di più della corporeità e delle inesauribili possibilità educative che essa dischiude.
