The acquisition of a physically active lifestyle through sport is considered as a key factor not only to improve the wellbeing of the person, but to avoid sedentary lifestyles as well. However, the achievement of this goal can be difficult in countries such as the African ones, which are so complex, poor and isolated. Starting from this assumption, our research aims to study the behaviors related to sport and physical activity in a group of adolescents living in an unexplored African region such as Iringa in Tanzania. To achieve this goal, a questionnaire was built and administered to a sample of 124 pupils attending two schools, one rural and one urban, in that region. The results showed that 85.5% of the pupils used to be engaged in same kind of sport and physical activity in their free time, showing a significant relationship with variables such as the place in which these boys and girls lived.
