The main objective of this study is to highlight the importance of philosophy as a science and its contribution to the science of training. The starting point of the study is the need for a new science of training that is not based only on the development of technical dimensions of sport performance but also on the athlete really conceived as a person and not as a machine. The coach is always an educator and therefore the philosophy that inspires her or him must always be a philosophy of education. For this reason, the study will highlight not only the roles and functions of the philosophy of education for the science training, but also the way one can put its educational principles into practice. The study will conclude by showing how it is possible to detect coaches’ educational philosophies through a research tool.

For this reason, the study will highlight not only the roles and functions of the philosophy of education for the science training, but also the way one can put its educational principles into practice. The study will conclude by showing how it is possible to detect coaches’ educational philosophies through a research tool.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
