Emotional education at school as a challenge to the self

Emotions are an interdisciplinary theme that has traversed the ages, profoundly influencing philosophical, psychological, pedagogical, and sociological thought. Their centrality in understanding humanity has been underscored by a recent cultural revolution that seeks to transcend the dualisms of mind, body and rationality, affectivity typical of the Western tradition (Plamper, 2018). Within this context, the concept of "emotion pedagogy" (Contini, 1992) has gained significant traction, exploring the theory of emotions from an epistemological perspective and examining their formative and educational impact on individual lives.
